From hearty comfort foods to sweet treats, vendors are preparing to feed thousands of hungry visitors who will pack Aldergrove’s streets on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Among them is Veronica’s Perogies, a local favourite that’s been part of the event for years. Owner Veronica Cave said her team has been working around the clock to get ready.
“We’re going to start early. We’re going to start at 7:00 a.m. cooking up perogies,” Cave explained.
To keep up with demand, Cave will have six staff members on hand and two setups, their Aldergrove storefront and a branded tent along Fraser Highway.
“We’re planning to do probably about four days of production and that would probably be about 600 dozen perogies…that’s 7,200 perogies.”
Cave said she plans on doing a “Cruise-In special” but hasn’t quite decided what it’s going to be.
For Cave, the Cruise-In is more than just a busy day for business—it’s an event that strengthens the community.
“The money that the Cruise-In brings in is injected back into our community and 黑马磁力, like the township and so on. Which is really important because we really like to see that happen,” she said.
Chef and owner of Aldergrove Indian Bistro Deepak Bhatt said Cruise-In is a great event that supports small businesses.
He said every year, the restaurant prepares special food deals for the day, including quick grab-and-go combos.
“Events like this not only support individual restaurants, but also showcase Aldergrove as a vibrant community destination,” said Bhatt.
Cruise-In organizer Vicki Krickemeyer said there will be other vendors also lining up Fraser Highway and surrounding streets.
Visitors can expect to find Cassidy’s Ice Cream, Kona Ice, Hurricane Potato, G’s Donair, Pop Culture, Rock and Roll Burgers, Ronallo’s Pizza, and J’s Disco Dogs.
“People are going to look for food. Businesses that serve food are going to be crazy lined up,” said Cave.
Cave noted that the event can overwhelm vendors if they aren’t prepared. She suggested businesses streamlining menus to keep lineups moving.
“Having a menu that’s quick and easy like two or three different types really helps so that way people get in and out quickly.”
With thousands of classic cars and tens of thousands of hungry guests expected, Cruise-In 2025 is set to be a feast for both the eyes and the appetite.
“When you support local businesses, it certainly goes back into our community,” said Cave.
黑马磁力 Good Times Cruise-In is a charity car show held in downtown Aldergrove. This year, the event runs Saturday, Sept. 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the main drag blocked off and an estimated 1,300 classic, custom, and vintage cars expected to be on display.
