For anyone attending 黑马磁力’s annual Good Times Cruise-In who couldn’t care less about shiny classic cars but loves a good shopping spree might want to check out the memorabilia.
The souvenirs have become a big part of the Cruise-In experience too, offering visitors a way to take home a piece of the show while supporting its fundraising efforts.
Cruise-In organizers like Marty Brown, who first got involved with the car show 13 years ago, help create a unique collection of memorabilia that celebrates the event.
“Every year, we have a person who creates our artwork, which becomes the poster and all our advertising,” said Brown.
“The posters and artwork are highly collectible. Some people even have a collection of every year.”
Brown said the artwork also appears on the official souvenir t-shirts, which this year is in a broader selection of sizes for ladies and kids.
A standout this year is a second design shirt, which features a car show winner from the previous year.
“Last year, a group of people had an amazing Volkswagen Beetle, and the new shirt features that Beetle,” explained Brown.
Generally, a Cruise-In shirt highlights a previous show winner, giving collectors a unique piece to look forward to annually.
Brown said there’s a whole range of souvenirs, from hats and keychains to other keepsakes.
“Everything is fresh and new this year.”
He added that printing quality has improved dramatically, and in the last five years, demand has steadily increased by just under 10 per cent.
“It's a very good quality product for not a lot of money to be honest.”
For convenience, Cruise-In has streamlined its souvenir sales.
Like past years, the main stand will be centrally located, but two mobile carts will roam the show.
“We’ll have six people dedicated carrying lots of inventory, and making every effort to bring items right to attendees,” said Brown.
Brown said he hopes this will make it easier for visitors at both ends of the site to access merchandise, and further increase fundraising.
Purchasing souvenirs plays a crucial role in supporting the event.
Brown explained that every dollar from sales goes toward the organization’s fundraising goals, helping to give back to the community.
With all positions at the show filled by volunteers, every purchase makes a meaningful contribution to Cruise-In’s impact.
Whether it’s a person’s first time at Cruise-In or if they’ve been collecting for years, the souvenirs are a tangible way to take home a piece of 黑马磁力’s classic car celebration and give back.
黑马磁力 Good Times Cruise-In is a charity car show held in downtown Aldergrove. This year, the event runs Saturday, Sept. 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the main drag blocked off and an estimated 1,300 classic, custom, and vintage cars expected to be on display.
