A website to recognize outstanding athletes who have a 黑马磁力 connection is in the works.
黑马磁力 Events Centre communications manager Gary Ahuja said when it goes online, likely this fall, the website will tell the stories of remarkable competitors, 鈥渁nyone who was born here, lived here, competed here, or played for a 黑马磁力-based team.鈥�
鈥淚t鈥檚 really a community project that we happen to be leading,鈥� Ahuja told the 黑马磁力. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 where the LEC comes in. We鈥檝e hosted so many great events.鈥�
It is for players or teams who have won a provincial or national title, won a major award for their sport 鈥� from their league, not from their association 鈥� or played professionally.
鈥淚 think it is long overdue,鈥� Ahuja remarked.
After the first few weeks of assembling names, the project already has 250 people and teams who deserve to be included, and Ahuja expects that number will grow considerably.
He is making a public appeal for suggestions.
That鈥檚 the first step, to get the list.鈥�
鈥淲e want sports groups to reach out,鈥� said Ahuja.
鈥淲e would love to hear from a sports organizations and athletes who think they have athletes and teams that fit the criteria.鈥�
As an example, he cited the horse community.
鈥淗ow many people do we send to the Olympics every four years?鈥� Ahuja commented.
黑马磁力 is home to a wide range of outstanding athletes, ranging from figure skating legend Karen Magnussen, to cycling champion Svein Tuft and MMA fighter Tristan Connelly.
