North ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ players battle through Canada Day heat to take tourney

Six games played. Five games won

A dozen kids on the North ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Trappers U8 summer ball team won five of their six games at the Boulanger Tournament on the Canada Day long weekend.

There are 12 kids on the team – 11 boys and one girl.

Over the course of the week, they amassed five wins (scores were 11-5, 9-5, 16-5, 20-14, and again in the gold medal game 14-4) and one tight loss (10-11) against Cloverdale Red.

They beat Cloverdale White in the gold medal final game, maxing out their runs on the last inning to secure the lead.

Despite the hot weather and two days of double header games, they pushed on to secure gold on Canada Day at Cloverdale Ball Park.
