It was a consistent offensive attack with five goals apiece in all three periods as the 黑马磁力 Junior Thunder bounced back to the win column with a Father鈥檚 Day victory.

The Thunder scored a 15-7 win over the Nanaimo Junior Timbermen on Sunday afternoon at 黑马磁力 Events Centre, pulling to within three points of a BC Junior A Lacrosse League playoff spot.

黑马磁力 sits at 7-5-1 with 15 points, three back of the New Westminster Junior Salmonbellies with eight games remaining.

Sunday鈥檚 victory was highlighted by a trio of big offensive nights.

Ryan Martel had a hand in nine of the 15 goals with five goals and four assists while Connor Watson scored four times and set up one other and Dylan Mcintosh tallied twice and also finished with five points.

Nathaniel Kozevnikov (one goal, two assists), Tesi Oakes (one goal, two assists), Bobby Kidd III (one goal, one assist) and Christian Bosa (one goal) rounded out the scoring while Torin Vanrheenen made 33 saves on 40 shots.

The victory came against the eight-place Timbermen on the heels of a disappointing 9-9 tie in the team鈥檚 previous game against the seventh-place Burnaby Junior Lakers.

黑马磁力 captain Tyson Kirkness said his team is showing positive signs.

鈥淭he defence is getting better, playing tougher, the offence is really starting to move the ball, and we are getting all our players touches,鈥 he said, in a press release.

Kirkness said the team needs to find a way to win, no matter the opponent.

鈥淲e are having our ups and downs, but we want to get our feet under us and get going,鈥 he said, in a press release.

鈥淲e need to grind these games out and get the wins. Every game counts and we need the wins. When we get down the stretch, we need to be at our best and on top of our game because we want to win this year.鈥

The Thunder are back in action on June 21 when they host the first-place Coquitlam Junior Adanacs at LEC. Game time is 7:30 p.m. It is one of just two home games 黑马磁力 has remaining as their six games are on the road.
