A few points made all the difference for a disappointed D.W. Poppy Redhawks senior girls volleyball team at the AAA Girls provincial wildcard challenge in 黑马磁力 on Saturday, Nov. 24.
鈥淲e played well, but we didn鈥檛 place,鈥 said head coach Gary Tener.
Hosted by D.W. Poppy, the event was a competition among seven B.C. teams for the two wildcard spots at the upcoming AAA girls volleyball provincial championships, scheduled to get underway Thursday, Nov. 29 in Powell River.
Super proud of our Senior Girls Volleyball team who battled hard and played awesome but fell just a little short in AAA Provincial Wildcard Playoff yesterday! Congrats on a great season ladies!

None of the games were blow outs, with only a few points separating victory from defeat, Tener said.
A crucial best-of-three game against eventual second-place finisher Powell River saw the 黑马磁力 players edged 19-25 and 23-25.
It was enough for a bronze, but not enough to take either of the two available berths.
An online post by principal George Kozlovic said the school was 鈥渟uper proud鈥 of the team 鈥渨ho battled hard and played awesome but fell just a little short.鈥
