Why are cities, municipalities and townships always so reactionary instead of proactive?
16th Avenue should have been widened to four lanes 40 years ago when the land that will need to be expropriated would have cost about a third of what it will cost now.
Conducting yet another 'report' on 16th Avenue is a waste of taxpayers money.
Just ask anyone who uses it. If it needs widening, you'll get your 'report' loud and clear.
Widen it from the beautiful four-lane Highway 99 overpass all the way out to Abbotsford and beyond.
It's a major east/west connector, and it's crazy dangerous with all those big rigs rollin' down its narrow, hilly sections.
Currently 16th Avenue is about as wide as some of the streets in Stanley Park, but 16th Avenue has thousands of semi trucks rumbling down it 24/7.
