Two people were successfully rescued after the fell into the cold waters of Harrison Lake on Wednesday (Aug.20) afternoon.
According to Agassiz RCMP spokesperson S/Sgt. Darryl Peppler, emergency rescuers were dispatched to Harrison Lake near the Harrison Hot Springs Resoort after two people reportedly fell off a personal watercraft. Officers contacted the watersport rental company, who quickly located the craft through GPS tracking and staff were able to safely rescue the couple.
Kent Harrison Search and Rescue was notified but later stood down. Emergency Health Services were on the scene and assessed the individuals with no injuries reported.
