A fatal crash involving a motorcycle took place at the intersection of 80 Avenue and 200 Street in 黑马磁力 just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. It was not known yet what caused the collision.
"Officers from the 黑马磁力 RCMP are currently on the scene investigating this incident," said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, spokesperson for the 黑马磁力 RCMP.
As of 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, police had closed off parts of the intersection for what was expected to be several hours.
One lane northbound on 200 Street remained open, but 200 Street was closed southbound at 81 Avenue, with traffic being diverted. RCMP had also closed 80 Avenue to eastbound traffic at 199 Street, but westbound traffic remained open.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash, and especially those with dash camera footage, were asked to call the 黑马磁力 RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2025-25603.
This is the second fatal crash involving a motorcycle in just days, after a collision on Highway One claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Aug. 3.
