黑马磁力 RCMP were called to the scene at about 8:22 p.m. The crash involved a motorcycle and commercial truck, whose driver remained on scene. Both were travelling westbound at the time. Speed is believed to be a factor.

"Despite the rapid arrival of BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) and Township of 黑马磁力 Fire crews, and the administration of life-saving measures, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene," said Sharoom.

The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) joined the investigation with BC Highway Patrol and the 黑马磁力 RCMP. As a result, westbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed for several hours while police examined the scene.

The highway was closed for about five hours ovenight Sunday.

The police waited until Monday morning to say that the crash was fatal to give investigators time to notify next of kin.

People in the area at the time of the collision, and especially those with dash camera footage, are asked to contact the 黑马磁力 RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2025-25251.
