黑马磁力 RCMP clock Ferrari 70km/h over speed limit

Sports car clocked at 124 km/hr in a 50 zone

黑马磁力 RCMP now have a Ferrari in their impound after a Surrey driver was caught speeding.

A recent enforcement initiative by the 黑马磁力 RCMP was in a residential neighbourhood near Wagonwheel Crescent and 56th Avenue.

"On May 24, officers observed a red Ferrari travelling at 124 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone, with a second radar reading of 123 km/hr recorded just 97.9 metres away." said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom. "This level of speed in a residential area poses a significant risk to public safety."

A 48-year-old Surrey man was fined $483 for excessive speeding, and the Ferrari he was driving was impounded for seven days.

"Driving at such excessive speeds in neighbourhoods where families live and children play is completely unacceptable," Sharoom said. "We take these violations seriously and will continue our enforcement efforts to keep our roads safe."

Throughout the month of May, police across British Columbia are focusing on reducing high-risk driving behaviours.

"We urge drivers to slow down, remain focused and make safe choices while driving," he said.
