Chilliwack Search and Rescue is looking for an overdue hiker, who was last in contact on Monday, Aug. 25.
Gurtaj Rattan was hiking the Flora Peak trail that day but has been considered missing since about 5 p.m. Crews were still searching for him on Tuesday morning.
His sister, Ravleen Rattan, said via social media that search crews are aware and looking for him. She asked other hikers to keep an eye out and let officials know if they have seen him.
"My brother has been missing from the Flora Peak Hike since Aug. 25 at 5 p.m.," she said on a widely shared Facebook post. "Search and Rescue has been involved but if any hikers are in the area and can come help, that would be greatly appreciated."
She said he was last seen around the 1.5-kilometre mark of the trail, and they believe he is now mostly off trail.
He was wearing a white shirt and grey shorts.
Rattan shared an image of her brother, and a general map showing the location he was last seen.
The Flora Peak trail begins at the same trailhead as the very popular Lindeman Lake trail, close to the Chilliwack Provincial Park entrance on Chilliwack Lake Road. It is considered a difficult trail, and can be completed as an "out-and-back" hike, or part of a trail loop that includes Lindeman Lake, Flora Lake and Greendrop Lake.
