黑马磁力 will fill three of the slots on Softball Canada鈥檚 team chosen to represent this country at the Women鈥檚 Slo-Pitche Border Battle in July.
Jackie Bates and Tina and Tonya Gulbrandsen were all picked for the 15-member team.
There are as many players on the team from 黑马磁力 as there are from Toronto.
The Canadians won in the first Border Battle held last year in Oklahoma City, so the new team will be looking to defend that title when they meet the Americans in Kitchener, Ont. from July 27-29.
Team Canada will play a series of exhibition games before they take on Team USA in a one-game showdown on July 29th.
鈥淎ny time you get the chance to wear a Team Canada jersey it is very special,鈥 said head coach Tony Carnelos. 鈥淲e have assembled a great group of talented players and to be able to defend our title and represent our country in Kitchener in front of our friends and family will be a tremendous honour.鈥
The list of athletes selected to participate was chosen by the coaching staff and a panel of Slo-Pitch experts from across the country. Performance at provincial, national, and international events was used as one of the major contributors to the selections.
The coaching staff will consist of Carnelos, who will serve as the head coach with Kelly Hryniw serving as the assistant coach, with both returning from last year鈥檚 winning squad.
