Aldergrove Community Market returns Sunday, Aug. 24, offering a day of shopping, entertainment, and community connection.
Hosted by Perfection Cleaning and Aldergrove Home Hardware, the market aims to connect neighbours, support local entrepreneurs, and raise funds for community causes in Aldergrove, explained Aldergrove Community Market co-host Ashley Sturtevant.
鈥淥ur vision for the Aldergrove Community Market is simple 鈥 community building community,鈥 she said. 鈥淓very event is a chance to support local businesses, connect neighbours, and give back to a cause that truly matters here in Aldergrove.鈥
This weekend鈥檚 market will feature more than 30 local vendors, six food trucks, and live music.
It takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Aldergrove Home Hardware, at 3147 272 St.
Sturtevant noted the last market drew hundreds of visitors, and organizers are hoping for a similar turnout.
Sturtevant shared that their first market in June raised over $2,200 for the North Otter community all-inclusive playgroound.
In July, the community market raised over $1,900 for the Aldergrove Veterans and Seniors Society.
For the upcoming market, Sturtevant said the funds raised are planned to go towards Christmas events in Aldergrove.
Shoppers can browse fresh produce, baked treats, and unique creations from local artists and young entrepreneurs.
Family activities include virtual reality games with VR World, a princess meet-and-greet, and facepainting with Fairest Skye Parties.
Vendors interested in participating can still apply by emailing aldergrovecm@gmail.com.
Proceeds will go toward a local cause chosen for its potential to make the greatest impact in the community, Sturtevant explained.
