Kindness lives on, whether orchestrated or random, in downtown 黑马磁力 later this week.

You鈥檝e Gotta Have Friends is hosting its annual Flower Power Day on Friday, May 12.

They鈥檒l be travelling around the downtown core of 黑马磁力 City handing out flowers and smiles.

In the meantime, there鈥檚 also an upcycle exhibit on display this week, that鈥檚 worth a look.

What can be done with old stuff, short of sending it to the landfill or recycling depot?

Well, see what some creative 黑马磁力 residents were able to do to reinvent found or recycled objects in this year鈥檚 Upcycling Design Challenge.

Those creations went on exhibit at Willowbrook Shopping Centre Wednesday, and will remain until May 21.

This is a joint initiative from the Township of 黑马磁力 and the 黑马磁力 Arts Council.

Residents have a chance to vote on their favourite piece, and in doing so could win a $100 mall gift card.

As for the best pieces of upcycled art, those will be announced during an awards reception at the mall on May 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.

And, each year, the 黑马磁力 Camera Club hosts the Fraser Valley Invitational photography competition.

In past, it has been hosted in Fort 黑马磁力. But this year, the 17th annual event, has a new location.

It鈥檚 moved to Clayton Heights Secondary School, this Saturday, May 13, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The school is located at 7003 188th St.

The theme to this year鈥檚 digital competition is music, and photo clubs from throughout the Lower Mainland are once again participating. Tickets are $18 in advance

at , or $20 at the door.
