This year marks the seventh Stay Gold Custom Car Show which takes place Sunday, June 22, at H.D. Stafford Middle School.

Organizers have planned a day filled with custom cars and bikes, as well as skateboarding both half pipe and street style. There will also be food trucks, clothing and merchandise, and awards in various auto categories. For younger attendees, there's a kids zone with bouncy castles and new activities.

The event proceeds support mental health programs in the community and each year attendance grows.

Stay Gold was started by Paul Frost to raise money in the name of a longtime friend and avid car enthusiast he’d known since he was 15.

His buddy had been struggling with a number of health issues, and it was his efforts to get counselling – and the financial barriers he faced – that motivated Frost.

In partnership with ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Community Services Society, Frost launched the Ken Laviolette Stay Gold Fund where LCSS could allocate the funds where they felt it was most needed to benefit the mental health of those needing assistance.

Stay Gold also distributes a portion of the proceeds to H.D Stafford to help students and families access programs during and after school that aid in social development and promote mental health awareness.

People can start bringing their vehicles for display as of 7:30 a.m. Registration is $25 per vehicle and available in advance online at .

The public can stop by the car show between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Admission is free but donations for the cause are welcome. The school is at 20411 Grade Cres. in ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City.
