Long-time Trinity Western University faculty member Kevin Sawatsky has been named the university鈥檚 new dean of the school of business.
He began his five-year term effective Aug. 16.
The role is a familiar one for Sawatsky who served as the founding dean for the school of business from 2001 to 2008. He has been a TWU faculty member since 1993 and most recently served as vice-provost (business), a role he has held since 2011.
鈥淔or 21 years, the school of business (formerly the faculty of business and economics) has been my professional home,鈥� Sawatsky said.
鈥淥ver those years, I have developed a love for the school of business and have a deep desire to see it grow and flourish.鈥�
Sawatsky takes over for Andrea Soberg, who has serves as dean since 2008.
鈥淚 believe that the school of business is now well positioned to expand and grow,鈥� Sawatsky said.
鈥淚鈥檓 happy to be able to serve another term as dean and work with the faculty, alumni, and business leaders to see that growth occur.鈥�
Sawatsky has also been one of the principle champions for the establishment of a school of law at TWU.
鈥淜evin remains committed to the success of the school of law and will continue to provide counsel on a limited part-time basis,鈥� said TWU provost W. Robert Wood.
