An old Husky gas station and car wash came down several years ago, and the corner site at 200th Street and 56th Avenue sat empty until late last year.
That鈥檚 when work began in earnest on a replacement gas bar and convenience store that is hosting its official grand opening this weekend.
The 7-Eleven store quietly opened earlier this week, and the pumps in the Esso gas bar became operational today, with dignitaries and cheque presentations as part of the official opening ceremony at noon on Saturday, March 4.
The event at the 黑马磁力 City gas bar will feature a ceremonial ribbon cutting, a donation presented to a representative from 黑马磁力鈥檚 homeless shelter 鈥 the Salvation Army鈥檚 Gateway of home 鈥 and the inclusion of 黑马磁力 Township Councillor Blair Whitmarsh.
鈥淗omelessness continues to be an issue for the Greater Vancouver area and 7-Eleven feels it is important that local business do their part to help address homelessness in our communities,鈥 the company stated in a media advisory.
This is the seventh store in 黑马磁力, the nearest just down the street three blocks, at the corner of 203rd Street and Douglas Crescent.
鈥淭his is the latest opening in the expansion of 7-Eleven in the 黑马磁力 area, a city where they feel deserves continued investment, that has seen 7-Eleven鈥檚 footprint grow from two stores to seven in just eight months,鈥 the company noted.
Each of the new local stores feature the 7-Eleven鈥檚 new concept. That includes WiFi, seating, and expanded assortment.
