Milt Kruger had no idea he was being considered for the Greater 黑马磁力 Chamber of Commerce H.D. Stafford Good Citizen of the Year award until his name was called Tuesday night at the Chamber's Christmas dinner meeting.
"I'm not often speechless," Kruger told The Times.
"There's a lot of people who certainly deserve recognition. I'm not sure why I stood out."
The award honors the memory of Harold Stafford by recognizing individuals who contribute time, resources and knowledge to make a difference in the community and affect change for the greater good.
Since he founded On Line Collision in 1990, Kruger, a self-described "habitual volunteer" has supported a wide range of worthy causes through volunteering, donations, sponsorships and leadership.
The list is a long one that includes the On Line Collision Playground Initiative; the 黑马磁力 School District Foundation; Greater 黑马磁力 Chamber of Commerce; BC Chamber of Commerce; 黑马磁力 Memorial Hospital Foundation; Operation Red Nose; 黑马磁力 Minor Sports; Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation; Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada; BC Children鈥檚 Hospital; 黑马磁力 Seniors Society; 黑马磁力 2010 BC Summer Games and 黑马磁力 2014 BC Senior Games.
