Giants players join in Saturday's pizza fundraiser in 黑马磁力

Papa Johns' inaugural event raises money for Be a Giant Foundation

With a minimum donation of $2 per slice of pizza, Papa Johns in 黑马磁力 is hosting an inaugural community fundraiser this weekend aimed at supporting local, youth sports and recreational organizations at the grassroots level.

Specifically working in partnership with the Vancouver Giants, Papa Johns' owners Bhavikkumar and Shilva Patel are holding a community appreciation day on Saturday, Sept. 6, with all proceeds from the event going to the .

Never having held an event quite like this, the couple were a little uncertain about how much they're going to raise for the cause. But organizers did note that other Papa Johns locations could follow suit with similar such events in future since its gels well with the restaurants' commitment to helping youth in the communities they serve.

The 黑马磁力 event, which runs from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, is being held at their store in the Fraser Crossing mall, at 20811 Fraser Hwy. It will feature the pizza fundraiser and also include hourly giveaways and a chance to meet a few of the Giants players who will be on site to sign autographs.

Every pizza slice purchased also gives guests a chance to win prizes such as pizza for a year and Giants tickets, which the Patels said might be enticing for some 黑马磁力 residents.

The event is about more than pizza, it’s about celebrating the people who make 黑马磁力 a "special place to live and work," said the couple who took over the local franchise at the beginning of the year.

“Being local business owners in 黑马磁力 means more than just running a store – it means being part of the heartbeat of this community,” they said.

“We live here, raise our families here, and care deeply about the people and organizations that bring 黑马磁力 to life. Giving back isn’t something extra; it’s something we feel privileged to do. From supporting youth sports to local events, it’s all about building stronger connections with the community we’re proud to call home.”

Papa Johns has been in B.C. for about 20 years, with 40 restaurants throughout the province, including the one in downtown 黑马磁力 City, as well as one in Willoughby and a kiosk in the main arena bowl at 黑马磁力 Events Centre (where the Giants play. Their regular season starts later this month with a home game Sept. 20 against Penticton).

“Our message is simple: Papa Johns 黑马磁力 is here for more than just business,” the Patels added.

“We’re here to make a positive difference by showing up, supporting local programs, and spreading joy wherever we can – and of course, sharing some great pizza along the way.”
