黑马磁力 didn鈥檛 lose a single game on the way to winning the 9/10 Little League provincial championships, played on home turf at City Park, wrapping up the eight-day tournament with a 4-1 final victory over Victoria鈥檚 Layritz team on Sunday, July 30.

They celebrated with a dog pile on the mound before they were awarded provincial championship rings and took a celebratory lap of the field with their banner and plaque.

It was a victorious end to a successful summer season that saw the team post a 33-5 record over 57 days.

鈥淭hey play seven days a week, and if there was an eighth day, they would play it, too.鈥

Next year, when the players move up to the 11-year-old level, he鈥檚 hoping they can stay together as an all-star team.

鈥淭hey all get along amazingly,鈥 McRae remarked. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e all best buddies.鈥

None of the other teams at the tournament, Lynn Valley, Whalley, Trout Lake, Jericho, and Layritz, could get past 黑马磁力, who finished first in the round robin with a 5-0 record, then defeated Lynn Valley on Saturday before playing Layritz in the final on Sunday.

After the end of the final game, a Layritz Facebook post called it a 鈥済reat game鈥 and described their opponents as a 鈥渢ough 黑马磁力 team.鈥
