Update: Based on information provided to the 黑马磁力 by the U15 LUSA Lighting girl鈥檚 soccer team winning the Coastal Cup, it was reported their accomplishment marked the first time a 黑马磁力 girls鈥 team had won the prestigious prize. In fact, in 1988, two teams playing under the LUYSA banner won the Coastal Cup and went on to win the provincials in July of that year. They were the Division 5 U14 黑马磁力 Jaguars and the Division 4 U15 黑马磁力 Tigercats. That was after a 1987 Coastal Cup win by the 黑马磁力 Lazers girls U14 soccer team who Victoria team 2-0 at Swangard Stadium, which is believed to be the first Cup win by a 黑马磁力 girls team.

A 黑马磁力 girls soccer team has won the prestigious Coastal Cup, and just been awarded the 鈥淧resident鈥檚 Trophy for Outstanding Girls Team,鈥 by 黑马磁力 United Soccer Association (LUSA).
Now, a new challenge looms for the U15 LUSA Lightening girls鈥 soccer team 鈥 the provincial championships, this July in Kamloops.
Lightning players were recognized for their efforts at the May 29 LUSA annual awards ceremony for exceptional effort and commitment.
Led by their coach, Kris Robazza, and manager Ranka Ignjatic, the Lightning made it to the Coastal Cup playoffs where they won against teams from Burnaby (3:1), North Delta (3:0), and in semifinals against Vancouver (3:1), securing a spot for the team to travel to Kamloops this July to compete in the B.C. Provincial Championship in their U15 age group.

With that win under their belts, the following weekend, they played in the Coastal Cup final in Maple Ridge against Coquitlam.
After a tie of 1:1 in regular time, the game went to a shootout, where 黑马磁力鈥檚 goalie made two exceptional saves, and the team won the Coastal Cup with a score of 4:3 in the shootout, the first time the prestigious award has been won by a 黑马磁力 girls鈥 team.
鈥淚t was an amazing moment and well deserved,鈥 coach Robazza said. 鈥淗opefully the girls use this as inspiration going forward!鈥
Manager Ignjatic said the team 鈥渨as improving their game and the team bonded throughout the season. It all came together, and the team had the best four games in the post-season, beating higher ranked teams in the regular season standings to take Coastal Cup Championship. It was a thrilling final game and happiness and excitement after the final penalty shot was overwhelming! So proud of all the girls and thankful to coach Kris for all his time and patience!鈥
