The B.C. Wildfire Service now classifies this fire as being held, meaning it is not expected to grow beyond 1.3 hectares in size.
The BCWS suspects the fire was caused by humans.

A small wildfire has broken out northwest of Agassiz not far from the Mount Woodside area.
According to the B.C. Wildfire Service, a small fire was discovered on Thursday (May 29) 12 kilometres up the Mount Woodside Forest Service Road. The fire is currently classified as out of control but remains under one hectare in size as of Thursday morning.
This fire marks the first of the 2025 season. The cause is currently under investigation. There are 60 active wildfires throughout the province as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
