A longtime White Rock waterfront restaurant will close its doors this September.
Due to the expiration of their lease, The Boathouse restaurant, which has been open in its Marine Drive location since 1981, will serve its final guests on Sept. 21, along with the Kitsilano location in Vancouver.
Known for its fresh seafood, waterfront views, rooftop patio, high-quality steaks and impressive wine lists, Boathouse COO Shah Ghani explained the closures are because of the leases that are set to expire.
"We are grateful for everyone that has made our time at these locations special, and are thankful to our dedicated employees for their hard work throughout the years," Ghani said in an emailed statement.
"While it's time to close this chapter, the spirit of The Boathouse lives on at our other nearby locations, where we remain committed to providing an exceptional experience for our guests. We are working to relocate our team members to our nearby Boathouse restaurants upon the closures.鈥
Following the Kitsilano and White Rock closures, The Boathouse will have just two locations in Metro Vancouver: Port Moody and New Westminster.
The Boathouse restaurants are owned by the Texas-based Landry's Inc.
