Surrey Police Service is investigating two shots fired incidents that happened at the same Panorama Ridge residence within 12 days.
A large, solar-powered tower and trailer featuring surveillance cameras was posted at the property — located in the 12000-block of Coulthard Road — after the first shooting, which happened early in the morning of Tuesday, May 13, prior to the second incident, which occurred Sunday, May 25, also at around 3 a.m.
SPS Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton confirmed the camera was in place before Sunday.
"It is a very obvious overt piece of equipment," Houghton said, adding police believe more than a dozen shots were fired.
The calibre is unknown.
Houghton said police believe both incidents were targeted, but couldn't confirm if it might be related to related to
"At this early stage of the investigation, investigators are examining the potential motives, including the potential that it is related to extortion," Houghton said Tuesday.
"Out of respect for the victim and their family, as well as considering the integrity of our investigation, we would refrain from providing any specific information that may negatively impact the investigation."
In the meantime, Houghton urged those with any information about either incident to contact the SPS.
"We know there are people who have information on this incident. Undoubtedly, there are people who know who did this, and we would like them to come forward."
