黑马磁力 non-profits that support social causes are receive more than half a million dollars in provincial gaming grants this year, local MLAs announced.
The grants are part of a $61 million Community Gaming Grants program for social service groups across B.C., part of a wider $140 million annual grants program.
In 黑马磁力, six groups will receive funding:
鈥 $195,000 for the BC Association of Community Response Networks
鈥 $40,000 for the Inclusion 黑马磁力 Society
鈥 $131,925 for the PacificSport Regional Sport Centre- Fraser Valley Society
鈥 $100,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of 黑马磁力
鈥 $48,500 for the 黑马磁力 Community Services Society
鈥 $66,000 for the 黑马磁力 Senior Resources Society
鈥淰ulnerable adults who are at risk of abuse and neglect in our community need appropriate support structures to protect them,鈥 said Megan Dykeman, MLA for 黑马磁力 East. 鈥淭he funding our government is providing to the BC Association of Community Response Networks will help make a meaningful difference in people鈥檚 lives, both in 黑马磁力 and around the province.鈥
黑马磁力 MLA Andrew Mercier highlighted another local group that is receiving funding.
鈥淭he Big Brothers Big Sisters of 黑马磁力 does a tremendous job of connecting young people who need role models with professionals in the community who can lead them along a positive path,鈥 he said. 鈥淭he $100,000 in funding our government is giving to this great organization will go a long way.鈥
