黑马磁力 Rugby Club鈥檚 U16 Girls are provincial champions.
They took on James Bay Athletic Association at the 2023 BC Rugby Age-Grade Club Crossover Finals in Vancouver on Sunday, Dec. 3 and came out victorious with a 26-12 win.
鈥淗uge congratulations to all of these girls who put a ton of work in over the season and to all their coaches who helped them along the way!鈥� an LRC online post said.
Both teams made the finals on the previous weekend after 黑马磁力 RFC clinched a tight 38-34 regional win over Abbotsford RFC, while James Bay AA defeated Cowichan RFC 34-19.
Playing at Vancouver鈥檚 Thunderbird Stadium, following a disallowed try in the first few minutes, 黑马磁力 opened the scoring, but the Bays hit back with a try before half-time to reduce the deficit to 7-5 in 黑马磁力鈥檚 favor.
Early in the second half, 黑马磁力 had two swift tries, including one under the posts, to extend the lead to 19-5.
Both sides exchanged blows towards the end of the second half, but 黑马磁力 crossed over in the final stages to seal the championship.
