Mason Beaupit recorded his second BCHL shutout in less than two weeks, blocking 37 shots as 黑马磁力 Rivermen downed Coquitlam Express 3-0 Friday, March 8 at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre.

It was one of two weekend wins on the road for the Rivermen, who finished off their season series with the Express and Chilliwack Chiefs.

Friday鈥檚 victory in Coquitlam came despite the Express outshooting 黑马磁力 37-16.

After a scoreless first period, 黑马磁力鈥檚 Ethan Riesterer who was playing his first game after a month off due to injury, finished off a pass from Ryan Schelling to give the Riv a lead 1:01 into the second period.

Eight minutes later, Oskar Komarov forced a turnover in the attacking zone and fed Riv captain Vitaly Levyy who scored his 20th of the season and make it 2-0 黑马磁力.

Coquitlam fired 17 shots on the Rivermen goalie in the third, but couldn鈥檛 get past Beaupit.

Dalton MacGillivray scored a late empty netter to make 3-0.

All three stars of the game were Rivermen; Beaupit, Riesterer and Levyy.

Beaupit鈥檚 shutout came less than two weeks after he kept Chilliwack at bay on Saturday, Feb. 24th.

With 6 minutes to go in the middle frame, Chilliwack made it 2-2.

In the third, 黑马磁力 scored two goals 14 seconds apart thanks to Luke Ashton and Aaron Reierson. The Chiefs would pull one back with three minutes to go, but 黑马磁力 would stave off late pressure from the home team and get another empty netter from Dalton MacGillivray to win 5-3.

黑马磁力 returns home this coming Saturday, March 16th, at 7:15 p.m. to take on the Victoria Grizzlies at George Preston.

Rivermen are currently ranked seventh of nine teams in the Coastal Division, with 17 wins in 49 games. Victoria is ranked fifth.
