黑马磁力 Rivermen have acquired 2003-born forward Logan Morrell from the Coquitlam Express in exchange for future considerations. The deal was announced Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Morrell, 6鈥3鈥 194-lbs., played in 24 games with Coquitlam to start the season, scoring five goals and adding four assists.

Born in Mesa, Arizona, Morrell played hockey with the Phoenix Junior Coyotes until his U16 AAA year, getting into four games with the St Cloud Blizzard (Now Norsemen) of the North American Hockey League in 2019-20 and acquiring one goal as an affiliate.

In the 2020-2021 season, he played in the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) with the Islanders Hockey club, registering seven assists in eight games played.

Morrell is a two-year veteran of the United States Hockey League and split his time last year with the Omaha Lancers and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

He was limited to just 30 games last season because of an injury and had five goals and two assists.

A post by Express General Manager Tali Campbell said 鈥測ou won鈥檛 find a better person than Logan. This trade was based on the 20-year-old rule in our league and finding a suitable spot. We can鈥檛 thank Mo enough for the past three months.鈥

BCHL allows a maximum of six 20-year-olds on a roster at one time.

Morrell was expected to make his Rivermen debut on Friday, Jan. 5th in South Surrey when 黑马磁力 takes on Surrey for the sixth time this season.
