The 2024 BCLA Minor Box Lacrosse Provincial Championships are underway in 黑马磁力 and Aldergrove, with 21 teams taking to the floor in three divisions (A1, A2, and B) until Sunday, July 28.
The championships are being hosted by the 黑马磁力 Minor Lacrosse Association, which has teams in all three divisions.
Joining 黑马磁力 in the A1 division will be Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Ridge Meadows, and Saanich.
The A2 division is split into two four-team pools with Chilliwack, Comox Valley, 黑马磁力, and Port Moody in one group, while the other features Coquitlam, Delta/Surrey, Nanaimo, and North Okanagan.
The B division also has eight teams with pool A featuring Abbotsford, 黑马磁力, Saanich, and the Sunshine Coast, while pool B contains Burnaby, Peninsula, Penticton, and West Kootenay.
For a lot of the players, this will be their last year playing minor lacrosse and move to the junior program next year, said Alex Vanichuk, president of 黑马磁力 Thunder.
"It's quite an accomplishment to get here," he said.
Saturday, July 27, kicks off with Nanaimo of Division A2 against Delta/Surrey at the 黑马磁力 Events Centre, and 黑马磁力 Thunder against Chilliwack in the Aldergrove Community Centre.
