There are 350 more trees and bushes than there used to be along the Arbour Ribbon Trail in 黑马磁力 after dozens of volunteers spent hours planting beside the path that runs near 56th Ave. at the Nicomekl River bridge crossing, a TD Tree Days event in partnership with the 黑马磁力 Environmental Partners Society (LEPS).

Abbotsford TD Branch manager Tracy Keckalo, a Walnut Grove resident, arrived at the Saturday, Oct. 21 event with a group of volunteers from the bank.
鈥淲e do this a few times a year,鈥� Keckalo told the 黑马磁力.
鈥淭his is our second one in two weeks. We were also in Abbotsford last week.鈥�
TD Tree Days is the flagship volunteer program of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF), which has the stated goal of creating a 鈥渕ore vibrant planet by continuing to grow and enhance green spaces for communities to enjoy.鈥�
Keckalo described it as 鈥渁lways a worthy cause.鈥�
鈥淚鈥檝e done this, I don鈥檛 know how many times, probably about six, seven times now.鈥�

Also taking part were volunteers from LEPS, along with a group of Girl Guides.
Nichole Marples, LEPS executive director, said the newly-planted native trees and shrubs will help to create wildlife habitat and improve local biodiversity for the region.
鈥淲e鈥檝e been doing this since 2013,鈥� Marples said.
鈥淓very year we do tree planting for the community that is sponsored by the TD Tree Days.鈥�
