Locals help out with McHappy Day in 黑马磁力

Helpers take part in McHappy Day at 黑马磁力 restaurants

The annual McHappy Day event, aimed at raising money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, saw 黑马磁力 firefighters, Mounties, and local politicians helping out at the grill and the takeout window.

On Thursday, May 8, local McDonald's restaurants donated a portion of the proceeds from each purchase towards the charity, sold specialized merchandise like Grimace tote bags, and collected donations.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities create housing near children's hospitals where families from out of town can stay while children are undergoing major medical treatments.

Locally, Mayor Nathan Pachal was at the 黑马磁力 City McDonald's on Fraser Highway and the 黑马磁力 Bypass, first thing in the morning, said Kayla Browning, a manager at the restaurant.

Later in the day Councillors Rosemary Wallace and Leith White were helping deliver orders to customers, while multiple 黑马磁力 City firefighters were outside by the drive-through line, collecting donations.

"People are very generous," said Conor Williams, one of the City firefighters.

At the Willowbrook-area McDonald's, 黑马磁力 RCMP officers donned red aprons and brought orders to customers. Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, the detachment's spokesperson, was one of those serving up food to customers for the day.

There were a number of events taking place at local McDonald's restaurants, including games, photo booths, and bracelet making.
