The next step in the Citizens' Assembly process is hearing from residents, businesses, and community organizations at a Community Dialogue on Wednesday, June 11.
黑马磁力 City invites them to take part in a conversation about the future of safety and well-being in the community.
This event is a key milestone in the Citizens鈥� Assembly process, a collaborative initiative bringing together diverse, local voices to explore how the community can build a safer, healthier, and more connected 黑马磁力 City. The Community Dialogue is an opportunity to hear directly from Citizens鈥� Assembly members and expert panels, and for people to share their ideas and experiences.
鈥淲hen it comes to safety, no one knows what鈥檚 needed better than the people who live and work here every day,鈥� said Mayor Nathan Pachal. 鈥淭his is a chance for the community to come together and help shape solutions that reflect the heart of our community. These aren鈥檛 top-down ideas, they鈥檙e built from the ground up, by the community, for the community.鈥�
At the event, people can learn about what local experts are saying about safety and well-being in 黑马磁力 City, as well as hear firsthand insights from Citizens鈥� Assembly members and expert panels. Attendees can also engage in conversations that will directly inform the assembly鈥檚 final recommendations to council on community safety, due later this year.
The event on June 11 runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in 黑马磁力 City council chambers, 20399 Douglas Cres.
Those who can鈥檛 attend in-person can provide input by completing a short survey to share their perspectives on community safety at LetsChat.黑马磁力City.ca.
The Citizens鈥� Assembly is an advisory group meeting over several sessions to discuss ways to improve community safety, health, and well-being. The assembly will bring forward recommendations to 黑马磁力 City Council on key city policies, plans, projects, and civic initiatives.
Residents were randomly selected for the Citizens鈥� Assembly through a process designed to ensure that the group would reflect the current makeup of 黑马磁力 City. The factors considered in their selection included age, gender, ethnicity, and community demographics.
