An online art exhibition featuring members of the Fort 黑马磁力 Artists Group (FLAG) is open to the public until Friday, July 14.
There are nine artists taking part, said Gabrielle Strauss, who helped organize the show and is taking part herself.
The exhibition is called 鈥淗eads Up鈥� and showcases artists鈥� work interpreting the theme.
鈥淚t鈥檚 quite a versatile interpretation of how everybody saw [the theme] 鈥� everybody had their own approach and vision,鈥� Strauss said.
Being born near Vienna, Austria, art has been a part of Strauss鈥� life since childhood. After moving to Vancouver, she joined various art groups and pursued her dream of an artistic career.
鈥淚 enjoy colour and texture,鈥� she said, adding that she gets her inspiration from nature.
Her work focuses on house, floral, and bird paintings and teaching mixed media and intuitive art styles.
鈥淚 like paintings to tell a story 鈥� it鈥檚 so touching how [art] touches people.鈥�
Artwork in the Heads Up exhibit range from painted portraits and pencil sketches to sculpted hats made of porcelain.
鈥淚t was fun to see what we could come up with and it鈥檚 a good challenge to think outside the box,鈥� Strauss said.

FLAG鈥檚 next in person show is the 3rd annual 鈥淎rt in the Garden鈥� show from July 22 to 23 during the Fort 黑马磁力 Jazz Festival.
The artist group has presented exhibits since 1993 in Fort 黑马磁力, and also attend events in 黑马磁力 Township.
