After more than 50 years of sharing music with the community, 黑马磁力 Community Music School (LCMS) is expanding its music education programs and concerts with a new initiative, called the Cascade Peaks ChamberFest.

This unique combination of a training program for young artists, and a festival of concerts, as well as a program for community musicians takes place at the lakeside RockRidge Canyon Resort, located in Princeton, explained Susan Magnusson, LCMS principal emeritus and the founding director of CPCF.

The resort features accommodations, a wide variety of recreational opportunities, and a 350-seat state-of-the-art performance venue making it the perfect setting for the destination festival, Magnusson said.

The event, which is running this week (from June 16 to 22), sees young artists currently enrolled in post-secondary music programs studying with some of Canada鈥檚 most renowned chamber music artists.

鈥淵oung musicians from across Canada and the U.S. will be coming together to study and collaborate with internationally acclaimed artists,鈥 Magnusson said ahead of the event.

The festival concerts taking place from Friday to Sunday, June 20 to 22, and will feature the guest artist faculty including the Borealis String Quartet, the Gryphon Trio, the concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, violinist Jonathan Crow, violist Juan-Miguel Hernandez of the Kaleidescope Chamber Collective, and Juno Award-winning clarinetist James Campbell.

Works by Dohnanyi, Wijeratne, Brahms, Messiaen, Martinu, Grieg, Mozart, Bernstein, Mendelssohn, and more will be performed.

In addition, there will be a series of recitals given by participants of the emerging artists program, accomplished young musicians on track for becoming Canada鈥檚 next generation of professional concert artists, Magnusson said.

Full Access Festival Passes can be purchased providing entrance to all concerts, open rehearsals, masterclasses taking place during the festival, and an opportunity to meet and chat with the guest artists in a variety of social settings, including a wine tasting. Single concert tickets are also available.

鈥淲hether you are joining us for a single concert or plan to experience the full festival weekend, we look forward to sharing world-class music with you in Princeton!鈥 Magnusson added.
