The Surrey café owned by Indian star on July 10, has reopened.
Kap's Café (8496 120 St.) is now open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., except on Tuesdays, when it is closed.
In a , staff expressed their gratitude for the "continued love and support" from the community. "With heartfelt thanks, we're opening our doors again — ready to welcome you back with warmth, comfort and care."
At least eight shots were fired at the business in Newton, on the border of Surrey and North Delta. Surrey Police and Delta Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 8400 block of 120 Street around 1:50 a.m. on Thursday, July 10. Damage to windows showed multiple bullet holes, but police said no one was injured, although staff were still inside at the time.
Kap's Café was recently launched by world-famous comedian and actor Sharma and his wife, Ginni Chatrath.
Surrey Police media relations officer Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton told the Surrey Now-Leader that there are no updates to the investigation at this time.
"It is active and ongoing and the motive(s) behind the shots fired are still being determined, and it being extortion-related has not been ruled out. There have been no arrests," Houghton said.
