Some new lawn bowlers dropped by the 黑马磁力 Lawn Bowling Club (LLBC) on Saturday for the start of the season.
Under blue skies, veteran members gave tips to newcomers.
黑马磁力 City Mayor Ted Schaffer and Councillors Rudy Storteboom and Val van den Broek all tried their hands at bowling on the bright green patch of grass.
The 黑马磁力 Lawn Bowling Club has eight greens, so 16 teams can play at a time.
鈥淎nybody can come in to play, and we invite anybody to come in and try it,鈥� said club president CHester Murray. 鈥淲e ask for $25 from a person, and they can come in and try it during the lessons with our coaches, and if they desire to go forward, that $25 applies to the first year鈥檚 membership.鈥�
