More than 200 took part in this year's ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City Terry Fox run in 2024, raising more than $26,000.

Who can help at this year's Terry Fox Run?

The ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City Terry Fox Run takes place on Sunday, Sept. 14 this year, and organizers are welcoming those able to volunteer at the long-running fundraiser to fight cancer.

"A very small group of dedicated volunteers have been organizing the annual ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City Terry Fox Run for quite a few years," said Tom Barichello, one of those volunteers.

People can help with the set-up or registration at Douglas Park prior to the run, act as route marshals, or help with the take down at Douglas Park.

Usually the Terry Fox run has been held on the third Sunday of September, but this year it happens to be on the second Sunday, Sept. 14.

"Volunteering is an amazing way of supporting the Terry Fox Foundation and its ongoing mandate to find cures for all forms of cancer," he noted.

If people are interested in volunteering, they can contact one of the organizers – Danette by text/phone at 604-866-8867 or via email to danette@clearbrookwaterworks.com or Tom by text/phone at 778-839-2469 or tom_sharron@shaw.ca.
