VIDEO: ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Township firehalls swarmed with families

Many people attended to learn about fire safety, try the smoke room, and meet fire, RCMP, and BC Ambulance personnel

David Tribe is proof the curiosity about the fire department never ends.

The 84-year-old was among the many who visited the Aldergrove firehall during the annual open house on Tuesday, June 4.

Tribe, who lives in a group home due to infirmity, was toured through the various stations by his caregiver, Rhani Braich.

He even took his turn spraying the high-pressure fire hoses.

Big crowds turned out to several Township firehalls on Tuesday – Aldergrove, Brookswood, Otter, and Murrayville – for Firehall Family Night.

There were displays set up to teach all ages about fire safety and some halls had smoke rooms so people could experience what it's like inside a fire. There was also the opportunity to climb into fire trucks and meet firefighters, RCMP members with their cruisers, and BC Ambulance personnel.

There's open houses Wednesday, June 11, at three halls.

• Hall 2 - Fort ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦, 23137 96 Ave.
• Hall 4 - Willoughby, 20253 72 Ave.
• Hall 8 - Walnut Grove, 9580 208 St.
