Seniors advocate holds meeting in Aldergrove Friday

Seniors and those who work with seniors or have a connection with older people may want to head to an Aldergrove seniors residence Friday.

Dan Leavitt, the B.C. Seniors Advocate, will be holding a public session on Friday, May 30 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Bellevue Park Seniors Living, 2882 272 St. He will be speaking on current issues facing B.C. seniors.

The session is open to the public. RSVP by calling 604-329-3664.

The Office of the Seniors Advocate is an independent office of the B.C. government acting in the interest of seniors and their caregivers. 

The office monitors and analyzes seniors services and makes recommendations to government and service providers to address systemic issues in five areas: health care, housing, income support, community support, and transportation.

The office has an information and referral line that is available 24 hours a day, every day. A senior service specialists will work with callers during office hours to provide resources and help resolve issues. Staff at bc211 will assist after hours.
