The Township is offering a variety of free and low-cost outdoor events in every neighbourhood during July and August.
鈥淪ummer Nights in the Township is a series of free and low-cost family-friendly events held throughout the Township that are open to residents and non-residents. Everyone is welcome to attend. We try to rotate events throughout the Township to give people the opportunity to enjoy a free experience close to home,鈥� said special events manager, Kevin Muirhead. 鈥淭his year鈥檚 lineup includes concerts, movies in the park, Family Fun Nights and a Community Water Fight. Plus, we have our popular events at The Outdoor Experience at Aldergrove Community Centre returning this year as well.鈥�
Concerts at the Willoughby Community Park Amphitheatre every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. will showcase talented musicians from different genres, while outdoor movies at various parks will feature family-friendly films.
New this year, the 黑马磁力 Community Farmer鈥檚 Market will be on-site every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with a diverse group of makers, bakers, farmers, small businesses, and more.
Family Fun Nights at Lynn Fripps Park and Philip Jackman Park will feature a foam party, bouncy castles, games, activities, food trucks, and a DJ spinning hit music.
A Community Water Fight at the spray park at Willoughby Community Park invites kids and adults of all ages to bring water guns or any type of water dispensing device to soak 鈥渙pponents.鈥�
The Township鈥檚 popular special events return to the Outdoor Experience at Aldergrove Community Centre from July through September. Advance online registration is required for all events listed below (no drop-ins). Registration opens seven days in advance of each event for both Township and non-Township residents.
鈥� Dive-in movie theatre: everyone can enjoy this unique experience. Bring an inflatable floatie and float around Breaker Bay or relax poolside while watching a family-friendly movie on the big screen.
鈥� Sip 鈥榥 Dip events: adults (ages 19+) can experience the waterpark in a kid-free atmosphere while enjoying local craft beer and wine.
鈥� Youth nights: youth ages 13 to 18, will take over the waterpark for two nights where they can have fun in a kid- free and parent-free environment.
鈥� Family Nights: Adults and children can spend time together and create lasting memories.
Admission to Youth Night and Family Night events at the Outdoor Experience are included with a Summer Fun Pass for
children and youth.
