Kids can get in on a sweet deal by taking part in the Little Lemonade Legends contest.
The third annual contest takes place Saturday, July 27, but now is the time to sign up to take part. The community event is hosted by the Aldergrove Business Association.
The contest teaches the young participants about running a lemonade stand. They are encouraged to create not only creative beverages but also distinctive booths to appeal to customers.
"We're aiming to register 100 kids for Little Lemonade Legends – a perfect project for your kids or friends' kids, offering fantastic cash prizes, candy bags, free pizza, and loads of fun," the association posted on its social media.
Each table will receive a $25 gift card to help with expenses.
The judges will make their picks from the lemonade creations of the kids entered in the contest and will award cash prizes for the top three. As well, there is a people's choice award and that category has cash prizes for the top three placings.
The kids can do set up starting at 1 p.m. and the public can visit between 2 and 4 p.m.
Kids wanting to take part must be registered in advance. To register or for information, email littlelemonadelegends@gmail.com or call 604-833-5634. Kids can compete as individuals or teams, such as siblings. The kids do not have to live in Aldergrove to take part.
