Canadian fans of the elusive In-N-Out Burger will once again have a chance to chow down on a Double-Double (or two), as the California-based chain returns to 黑马磁力 for the annual Good Times Cruise-In in Aldergrove on Saturday, Sept. 8.
Each year, customers line up for hours (some arriving before sunrise) to ensure they will be able to get their hands around one of the 1,400 to 1,500 burgers served on event day.
That鈥檚 because it is the only opportunity they will get all year to eat In-N-Out, without travelling to one of the six states where the chain operates 鈥� the closest being Oregon.
In-N-Out鈥檚 manager of special foreign events, Eric Billings, who will be making his third trip north for the event this year, says it鈥檚 the enthusiasm of the people they meet 鈥� both first-time customers and regulars 鈥� and the opportunity to support Cruise-In charities that brings the burger chain back to the Lower Mainland every summer.
Although it鈥檚 always a quick trip up and back for staff, they make the most of their time in Canada, he said.
Speaking to the Times ahead of last year鈥檚 event, Billings said he鈥檚 had fantastic time attending Cruise-In.
鈥淲hat an event 鈥� it was phenomenal. I loved it and had a great time,鈥� Billings said of his first visit. 鈥淭his event is a unique one and a great experience.鈥�
As in previous years, proceeds from burger sales will be donated to Cruise-In鈥檚 designated charities. This year, those charities are 黑马磁力 Community Support Groups Society and Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association.
Ticket sales will start at 8 a.m. with a limit of four tickets per person.
Food service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m., or until the burgers are gone.
The ticketing system was implemented in recent years to prevent scalping and to ensure that as many people as possible are able to get a burger.
Tickets are usually sold out within three hours and Billings said that while it鈥檚 hard to turn people away, because of the limited capacity of the truck, there is no opportunity to increase the number of burgers sold at the event.
鈥淭hat is pretty much how much our truck can hold because we bring up our own buns, meat and cheese,鈥� he explained.
In-N-Out Burger will be located at RE/Max Aldercenter Realty, 26641 Fraser Hwy.
