Social Streets: 黑马磁力 City has organized gatherings in local parks to foster sense of community. Next one is Hunter Park, 19959 45A Ave., on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 3 to 8 p.m. Rotary Centennial Park event is Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 20875 Fraser Hwy. from 2 to 8 p.m. Bring a blanket, chair, and picnic. Meet neighbours and enjoy music, games, and more. Free. Open to all.

/st膩j/ 3.0: Fort 黑马磁力 Gallery exhibit by artist Gwenyth Chao is at the Fort 黑马磁力 Community Hall (former library space) from Sept. 5 to 14. Opening reception is Friday, Sept 5, 6 to 8 p.m. Hands-on workshop with the artist is Sunday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 13, both from 2 to 4 p.m. Artist talk and tour happens Sunday, Sept. 14, 2 to 3 p.m. Exhibition is open noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14; and by appointment Sept. 8 to 11 (book via email fortgalleryarc@gmail.com). 黑马磁力 Good Times Cruise-In: Public can enjoy the charity car show between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. More than 1,200 vehicles expected in downtown Aldergrove on Saturday, Sept. 6. Event includes live entertainment, souvenirs, and more. Info: langleycruisein.ca.

Swap meet: 黑马磁力 Good Times Cruise-in Swap Meet and Car Corral is Sunday, Sept. 7, at Aldergrove Community Secondary School, 26850 29 Ave., between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Event raises money for Cruise-In which supports local charities. Info: langleycruisein.ca.

First Capital Chorus: Weekly rehearsals open to guests of all genders and ages to experience four-part acapella harmony in a relaxed cordial atmosphere. Ability to read music not required. Audio learning of vocal parts and repertoire is provided. More experienced members would determine which vocal section would be appropriate for those who choose to join. Sheet music supplied. Chief Dan George 鈥 Actor and Activist: Exhibit from the Museum and Archives of North Vancouver will be in the Big House at the Fort 黑马磁力 National History Site until Sept. 14. The exhibit delves into the life of the Tsleil-Waututh leader, actor, and activist whose used his notoriety to call for justice, reconciliation, and Indigenous pride. Community Harvest: People who need help harvesting fruits and vegetables can contact the 黑马磁力 Environmental Partners Society about the harvest program. Volunteers pick ripe produce which is then divided between the owner, the volunteers and the food bank. Info: agriculture@leps.bc.ca.

Volunteers needed: Penny Pincher Thrift Store looking for volunteers for various tasks (sorting, stocking, assisting customers, and appliance testing). 黑马磁力 Memorial Hospital Auxiliary store, 20560 Fraser Hwy., raises money for the local hospital. Stop by the store or message the auxiliary through its Facebook page to ask questions or sign up.

Opus One Women's Choir: Group rehearses at 黑马磁力 Secondary on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. September through May. New singers welcome in the non-audition community choir with a focus on fun and friendship while learning some musical skills and growing together as a group. We perform concerts in spring and at at Christmas and other occasions around the community. Senior Opus Singers is a women's choir dedicated to entertaining seniors. Men鈥檚 Shed: 黑马磁力 has a chapter of the international group that allows men to get together and socialize, work on projects, or help the community by using their skills.
