Infinity Cheer Elite is calling on the Aldergrove community to come out and support its young athletes during a car wash and bottle drive fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Aldergrove Branch, 26607 Fraser Hwy.
The event is organized by the team鈥檚 parent fundraising committee.
Cheer parent Megan Fristak, an organizer of the event, said it is about more than just raising funds.
鈥淎ll the kids participate, it teaches them responsibility, teamwork, and gives them confidence,鈥 she said.
鈥淚t鈥檚 also a great way to bond with their teammates and learn entrepreneurial skills,鈥 she said.
The car wash is by donation, and bottles can be dropped off at the event or picked up from local homes by request by emailing cheer@infinitycheerelite.ca. A concession stand will also be available while supplies last, featuring hot dogs, candy bags, freezies, chips, and cold drinks.
Funds raised will go directly toward athlete cheer fees.
鈥淚nfinity provides a safe environment for athletes. It's just such a great place for our athletes to grow up,鈥 Fristak said.
Infinity Cheer Elite has members around the region with gyms in both Aldergrove and Chilliwack.
