The staff at Milestones 黑马磁力 have reached their own milestone, raising more than $10,000 for Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association at their latest regulars鈥� party fundraiser held in September.
While saying thank you to the customers who make their business successful, they also give an opportunity for their guests and their employees to give back to the community.
鈥淲ords can鈥檛 describe it. Honestly it is such a great feeling,鈥� said manager Jaivin Khatri.
鈥淚t鈥檚 one thing to take care of guests in the restaurant and say thank you to them at an event like this, but it鈥檚 a completely different experience when you can touch the lives of so many people.鈥�
Thanks to generous donations at their past four events, Milestones 黑马磁力鈥檚 grand total of fundraising for local charities in the last year is now more than $27,000. That includes an Autism Awareness Night held in April, a Movember event last November, and the first regulars鈥� party for VTEA one year ago in September.
And with a second Movember event scheduled for the end of November, Milestones 黑马磁力 hopes to raise even more.
鈥淭he way I look at it is that we get to pay it back to our guests, but in the same token they can help pay it back to the community with us,鈥� Khatri said.
Every event held has a personal connection to a staff member at Milestones. A spouse of one of their employees volunteers with VTEA, which led to the first fundraiser.
With double the attendance and triple the money raised this year, they feel nothing but gratitude, Khatri said.
鈥淎 lot of hard work goes into these events, but the reason why we do events like these is to appreciate the people that make our lives and our jobs important, and that鈥檚 our guests,鈥� he said.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 why we work here, that鈥檚 why we do what we do. To throw events like these and to give back to our community and our guests make my job and our jobs worthwhile.鈥�
