黑马磁力 resident Mike Battistel, president of Cascadia Windows received the 2016 Professional Achievement Award at the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C. (ASTTBC) ceremony and gala last month.
Battistel was presented with a congratulatory plaque from B.C. Premier Christy Clark.
Battistel said he is honoured to receive an award that recognizes Cascadia鈥檚 contribution to the environment.
鈥淚t represents the huge effort from the whole Cascadia team to establish us as the leader in energy efficient fiberglass construction product innovation,鈥 he said on Monday.
ASTTBC hosted 350 industry professionals at the 28th Technology Awards & Recognition Celebration. The annual gala is ASTTBC鈥檚 opportunity to recognize B.C.鈥檚 technology professionals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements.
鈥淢y family has also been an instrumental part of this achievement, with their tireless support and patience,鈥 he said.
Cascadia employs about 65 people at their Gloucester offices and warehouse.
鈥淢ike Battistel, President of Cascadia Windows Ltd., has a passion for progress. After the 鈥楲eaky Condo Crisis鈥 in the '90s, Mike became dedicated to helping the industry design and implement sustainable building envelope systems,鈥 said his award bio. 鈥淢ike has led Cascadia to innovate, design, and produce products that have been used on some of the most energy efficient buildings in the world. Under Mike鈥檚 leadership, Cascadia has become internationally praised for its contribution to environmental sustainability.鈥
That鈥檚 what he loves about his job the most, he said.
鈥淏ecause our products vastly increase the energy efficiency of buildings, the more market share Cascadia obtains 鈥 the less energy buildings consume, and the less greenhouse gasses are emitted.
鈥淚t feels good to be part of a company that actually has a positive effect on the environment.鈥
Cascadia Windows manufactures fiberglass windows, doors, and cladding support system, be it a sliding door with unsurpassed water penetration resistance or a commercial window with exceptional thermal performance.
Cascadia has received well over 50 industry awards and accolades including being ranked top 10 most innovative companies in B.C. by BC Business Magazine and nominated by Time Magazine, Fortune, and CNN for the World Technology Award in the Environmental category.
