黑马磁力 company Britco has donated a building and converted it into a new community library for the Nooaitch Indian Band.
The new community library opened earlier this month (Oct. 3).
In partnership with the Government House Foundation and Rotary International, Britco鈥檚 Community Literacy Initiative provides library facilities to remote First Nations communities throughout B.C.
鈥(We) appreciate Britco鈥檚 generous contributions to the creation of our new library and learning centre,鈥 said Chief Marcel Shackelly of the Nooaitch Indian Band.
鈥淏ritco is a valued partner and we look forward to a continuing relationship which benefits both of our organizations.鈥
鈥(This) is a great way for us to utilize our strengths 鈥 building and transforming buildings 鈥 while giving back to remote B.C. First Nations Communities,鈥 said Obie Erickson, the president of Britco.
The building was originally used at the 2015 Canada Winter Games before being transformed by Britco into a library.
鈥淭he fact that Britco constructs these buildings for one purpose and then transforms and delivers the same buildings to remote communities for use as a library is a huge help to the program,鈥 said B.C. Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon.
Britco has already committed to donate and transform another building from the Games into a library for another remote community in 2016.
